About This Treatment
Neuropsych Evaluations
Neuropsychological testing takes a detailed, scientific look at how your brain is actually working. Rather than relying on impressions alone, it maps your cognitive strengths and weaknesses across many domains, connecting what happens in the brain to the challenges you notice in everyday life.
What we assess
- Memory and new learning
- Attention and concentration
- Language and communication
- Visual and spatial reasoning
- Executive functioning, including planning and organization
- Processing speed and mental efficiency
What to expect
After reviewing your medical and cognitive history, our clinician administers a carefully selected battery of standardized tests. The results are analyzed in detail and translated into a clear report that explains your cognitive profile and offers concrete recommendations for care, school, or work.
Common reasons for referral
Concerns about memory, concentration, or thinking related to a neurological condition, brain injury, stroke, developmental question, or unexplained cognitive changes over time.
Delivered by telehealth
Most neuropsychological evaluations are completed online, with in-person testing available in Augusta, Georgia for younger children.
Ages
12 years and up (ages 5–11 in person in Augusta, GA)
Format
Available via telehealth

Missed and Underdiagnosed
56% of mild TBI cases were not documented as mTBI in ED records.

"Patients whose diagnosis is missed will typically not receive guideline-based treatment, self-care advice, or adequate follow-up care."
— Buchanan et al., Pain Physician (2023).
The Continuity Gap
39% of CT-positive patients had not seen a medical practitioner by 3 months.
Source: Seabury et al., TRACK-TBI, JAMA Network Open (2018).
"TBI is a 'chronic process', not just an isolated event requiring immediate stabilization."
— Masel & DeWitt, Journal of Neurotrauma (2010)
Chronic Symptom Load
21% had persistent post-concussion symptoms at both 3 and 12 months.
Source: Fordal et al., Arch Phys Med Rehabil (2022).
"Evaluation of specific acute symptoms and signs may contribute to the prognosis of persisting symptoms in adults."
— McIntosh et al., JAMA Network Open (2025).
Long-Term Impact
6-Month Recovery
~50% do not recover to pre-TBI levels of health by 6 months.
1-Year Impact
53% report injury-related functional limitations at 12 months.
